Comparison is made of the energy use of various types of cars. The hybrid powered vehicle wins the race, with the added advantage that no new infrastructure is required. Hydrogen, a hazardous explosive gas, is definitely out of question because of large inefficiencies during its production and its use.

If and when all proved fossil reserves will have been burned, the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration may reach approx. 925 ppm. At this level the temperature impact is calculated by a simple two layer static model to be 0.9 to 1.2 °C above its level before the beginning of the industrial era. This is clearly no reason to terrorize the crowds with catastrophe scenarios.

Apparently we must reduce CO2 emissions. This requirement has become a higher true and immutable dogma. Also, following the fears felt after Chernobyl and Fukushima, countries are now committed to phasing out nuclear power. This has also become an almost moral imperative .
