Let’s save the World by boosting the economy

It’s well known that churning goods and services increase the economic wellness of any society. Nowadays this recirculating pump seems to be stuck, at least this is what I’m reading in the last edition of The Economist.

I therefore propose to unleash economic activity with new liquidity, this time of another kind than just plain money.

To this effect, I’m emitting today a first tranche of a new certificate under the name of the Stuck-Certificate, or SC. One billion SCs are now at the disposition of investors, traders and speculators, they will be numbered 1 to 999’999’999.

The opening price is 10 Swiss Francs per SC (equivalent to approximately 10 US dollars or 9 euro). Anyone can offer more; this is a free World.

Want can you do with them?

Provided that some of these belong to you, you can sell them. But if you haven’t any, or not enough, you can purchase any quantity up to one billion, for whatever reason you may find appropriate. Isn’t it nice?

When you will have payed CHF 10 to me for each SC, I will begin to consume goods that cannot be purchased with SCs but need to be acquired with currencies. I promise that, after having accumulated a first million Swiss francs, I will spend all the money passed to me for the acquisition of SCs. I will not put it in my mattress or any other kind of safe vault. For practical matter I will however ask you to allow me a delay of three months between receiving the money and spending it. You will understand that it is not at all easy and simple to dispose of ten billion Swiss francs in a very short time. But I promise: I will spend it altogether.

This will have the effect of boosting the Swiss economy by one special consumer, me, spending a lot of money for various useful things such as cloths, cars (although I can only wear one trouser and drive one car at once), fine wines, etc. I will also buy a series of electric heaters and let them heat the atmosphere, giving back the energy that is intermittently sequestered from the Sun by so-called renewable green technologies. I will buy train tickets and offer travels to nice places to my friends. I will give away restaurant and hotel vouchers for an equal number of refugees and Swiss indigenes so that they will at last begin to talk to each other in the nice setup of comfortable palaces. I will buy books for students, pay for their studies, but not for ghost writers of their thesis. I will also remain open to any other spending suggestion.

However, I will not use this money to help anyone to pay any debt, governments, companies or individuals. Because there must by a wall between consumers and the finance sector. Of course, I will use the services of banks, but just for organizing payments. Most probably the taxman will ask me to give to the state 35% of what I will have been receiving. This will greatly help my spending job, as we know that all state institutions are master of throwing money through the windows (as we say in French).

My estimate is that, within a few months, this first experimental operation will have boosted the Swiss economy by approx. 1.5 point of GNP.

I will then open a new tranche of hundred billion SCs. This will be the real thing, with the aim to boost the World economy by approximately 1.5%. To readily spend such large amount of money I will need the assistance of global consumers, on a voluntary and gracious basis.

What are people going to do with all the SCs that will be in circulation? Since they will have only an electronic form, they will even not be useful in any loo. But one can expect that they will be very valuable. Once put on the market, SCs will be negotiable. I will not engage in registering them at any stock market. Other actors will surely do so, seizing swiftly such a parasitic opportunity, including the creation of derivative products, at their own risk.

Reader! What can you do?

Please talk about this among your friends and your enemies. Use actively your social network connections to spread the good news.

And start acquiring 100 or a different number of my wonderful Stuck-Certificates at CHF 10.00 each:
