Impossible to question “Established Truths”

There are established “truths” that became impossible to question, or then the one who dares doing so will be declared:

  • a negationist (that attributes to him a nice smell of hatefulness, similar to anti-Semitism);
  • sold to a neo-liberal and slave driving capitalism, of course neocolonialist or otherwise imperialist;
  • or, in a condescending tone, being oblivious, what is even worse than the first two categories, because in the asylum nobody worries anymore about your reason.

Here is a not exhaustive list of these received truths, similar to increated religious texts:

  • Nuclear wastes, dangerous and impossible to dispose of in a stable, long term way;
  • Synthetic chemicals, creating monsters that come out of the flask;
  • Genetically modified organisms, against nature;
  • Electromagnetic radiations, at all intensities and frequencies;
  • Pesticides, serving only to enslave the farmers and to poison the consumers;
  • Fertilizers, bad if synthetic, good if organic;
  • Biodiversity, to be fully preserved on every square meter of the globe;
  • Organic food, because “naturally produced”, without any productivist spirit;
  • Fair trade, which corrects terrible disparities and absolves the West of its sins;
  • Man responsible for the climate and its disorders (sic); by respect, I spare here the woman;
  • Finance with its overwhelming Mephistophelian aspects;
  • Consumption, always exaggerated if by the other ones;
  • Future generations, which need our solicitude because, of course, they will be more incompetent than us.

Expertise and nuances no matter anymore, we just have to have an opinion.
